Topic description
In this topic students will be presented with an industry standard brief. In their production teams students will research genre, production processes and materials in preparation for their major production project.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- expand students’ knowledge of the professional elements of pre-production research
- enhance the ability of students to work effectively in collaborative teams towards the development of creative works
- examine a range of genres, processes and materials relevant to the students’ specialised field
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- create planning documents relevant to their specialised area within the production pipeline, to meet the requirements of the industry brief
- discuss, analyse and implement genre, theories and materials relevant to their given brief
- examine and analyse current professional practices in relationship to their brief
- communicate and negotiate professionally with their peers in the foundational stage of a creative project
