Topic description
In this topic students will review and build on work undertaken in SCME9302, in relation to the production and post-production phases of their Major Production Project. The overall pipeline will be reviewed and individual team members milestones will evaluated and, if necessary, updated. Research and development for the production and post-production phases will be completed.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • provide students with advanced knowledge, skills and methodology to independently undertake research and development into digital production projects

  • enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of the role of digital artist in the community, and of the rapidly changing commercial world of entertainment design

  • provide students with an advanced knowledge and ability to develop all areas of intellectual property creation
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate:

  • advanced creative, technical and communication skills and knowledge of the theoretical aspects of the digital media and entertainment design industry, including intellectual property creation, to research, design, evaluate and implement a digital media project

  • advanced cognitive, creative, and technical skills to evaluate complex ideas and create new conceptual approaches to creative problems

  • advanced knowledge of recent industry trends, and the ability to reflect critically on these trends and apply them to their own creative practice

  • the ability to investigate, identify and pursue appropriate markets and distribution channels for their work
