Topic description
This topic discusses how science progresses through periods of "normal" science, undertaken within the current paradigm, interspersed with periods of upheaval where there are paradigm shifts. It examines the current trend to interdisciplinary science and the advances often made through transferring ideas from one field to another. Students will be introduced to research through projects and case studies.
