Topic description
This topic investigates an aspect of Christian Education or Discipleship. This aspect might be an extension of the subject matter studied in a Christian Education or Discipleship topic for the ordinary degree. The nature of the project and its assessment is to be negotiated with the topic coordinator. After approval has been given a supervisor with whom the student will work will be appointed. Attendance at lectures, tutorials and/or seminars may be required.
Educational aims
This topic aims to provide students with opportunities to:
  • investigate an aspect of Christian Education or Discipleship in depth
  • evaluate texts related to Christian Education or Discipleship critically
  • develop skills in research and analysis
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students should be able to demonstrate that they can:
  • identify an issue in Christian Education or Discipleship that merits scholarly investigation
  • select relevant evidence about the chosen issue and evaluate its worth critically
  • produce original research in a specific area of Christian Education or Discipleship
