Topic description
This topic investigates an aspect of Christian discipleship. Students will identify and complete a project, the assessment of which is to be negotiated with the topic coordinator. After approval, a supervisor with whom the student will work, will be appointed. Attendance at lectures, tutorials and/or seminars may be required.
Educational aims
This topic aims to provide students with opportunities to:

  • investigate an aspect of Christian discipleship and faith formation in depth
  • identify and critically evaluate texts related to Christian discipleship
  • develop advanced skills in research and analysis
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students should be able to demonstrate that they can:

  • identify an aspect of Christian discipleship, theoretical or practical that merits scholarly investigation
  • identify relevant recent and historical literature about the chosen issue and critically evaluate its relevance
  • analyse complex problems and possible solutions related to the practice of an identified issue.
  • communicate theoretical concepts as the apply to specific individuals or groups, both verbally and in writing
