Topic description
This topic is an investigation of an aspect of Theology. This aspect may be from any of the disciplines of Theology (including biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, and pastoral studies) or from an inter-disciplinary field. A proposed subject of investigation and methods of assessment must be submitted to the topic convener. After approval has been given, a supervisor with whom the student will work will be appointed. Attendance at lectures, tutorials and/or seminars may be required.
Educational aims
This topic provides students with opportunities to:

  • investigate an aspect of Theology in depth
  • develop skills in basic research and analysis

Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate that they can:

  • identify an issue in Theology that merits scholarly investigation
  • select relevant evidence about the chosen issue and evaluate its worth
