Topic description
This topic provides students with the knowledge of a variety of leadership approaches and practices, the ability to reflect on these from contemporary theological and biblical perspectives and apply them to high level strategic planning and decision-making processes from within a Christian theological, biblical framework.
Educational aims
This topic is designed to:

  • identify and analyse a broad variety of leadership approaches and practices
  • critically evaluate and reflect on leadership approaches and practices from a Christian theological perspective
  • apply leadership approaches and practices within a range of contemporary Christian and secular contexts
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • critically evaluate a range of leadership styles, including their personal style, and the implications and applications of these in varying contexts
  • synthesize personal perspectives, theological scholarship and l theories and styles in relation to leadership, and articulate a coherent philosophy of leadership
  • interrogate a range of contemporary leadership practices and approaches and apply best practice principles in multiple (including local) contexts
  • articulate leadership from within a Christian framework to a range of audiences
