Topic description
The topic investigates some aspect(s) of liturgical studies or a related field of enquiry. A proposed subject of study and methods of assessment must be submitted to the topic convener. After approval has been given, a supervisor with whom the student will work, will be appointed. Attendance at lectures, tutorials and/or seminars may be required.
Educational aims
To provide students with an opportunity to undertake an individual study of and an exploration of recent literature in an aspect of liturgical studies.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • identify an aspect of Liturgical Studies, theoretical or practical, that merits scholarly investigation
  • identify, analyse, and critically evaluate a wide range of relevant recent and historical literature about the chosen issue
  • analyse complex problems and possible solutions related to the practice of an identified issue
  • communicate advanced theoretical concepts of Liturgical Studies, as they apply to specific individuals or groups
