Topic description
The topic investigates some aspect(s) of the theology or practice of spirituality, or a related field of enquiry. A proposed subject of study and methods of assessment must be submitted to the topic convener. After approval has been given, a supervisor with whom the student will work will be appointed. Attendance at lectures, tutorials and/or seminars may be required.
Educational aims
To provide students with an opportunity to undertake an individual study of and an exploration of recent literature in an aspect of the theology or practice of spirituality.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • clearly articulate the issues surrounding a particular aspect of the theology of spirituality

  • give an overview of recent literature on this aspect
  • explain in depth key positions on this aspect and associated methodologies
  • critically reflect on these positions
  • develop and present their own viewpoint on key issues associated with this aspect the theology of spirituality
