Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- Explore the personal/professional axis of the symbiotic model
- Explore the government/community axis of the symbiotic model
- Critique the principles of symbiotic clinical education
- Engage peers in constructive debate on contemporary issues and understandings of clinical education
Expected learning outcomes
At the completion of this topic, participants will be able to:
- Critically evaluate the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in the personal/professional axis of the symbiotic clinical education model
- Critically evaluate the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in the government/community axis of the symbiotic clinical education model
- Critically analyse the role of the clinical educator in the personal/professional axis and government/community axis of the symbiotic model
- Apply contemporary education practices to achieve symbiotic clinical education
- Apply the symbiosis model to their own clinical practice context
