Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • Explore the personal/professional axis of the symbiotic model

  • Explore the government/community axis of the symbiotic model

  • Critique the principles of symbiotic clinical education

  • Engage peers in constructive debate on contemporary issues and understandings of clinical education

Expected learning outcomes
At the completion of this topic, participants will be able to:

  • Critically evaluate the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in the personal/professional axis of the symbiotic clinical education model

  • Critically evaluate the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders in the government/community axis of the symbiotic clinical education model

  • Critically analyse the role of the clinical educator in the personal/professional axis and government/community axis of the symbiotic model
