Students are required to successfully complete this topic prior to commencing a child placement that involves psychological assessments.
Topic description
Educational aims
The aims of the topic are to increase students' knowledge of intelligence theory, and the range of psychological assessment batteries that can be used in clinical practice, as well as to develop students' skills in the administration, scoring, interpretation and reporting of psychological assessments.
Expected learning outcomes
On successful completion of this topic, students will be competent in:
  • the administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessments for children and adolescents, and
  • associated psychological report writing.
