Topic description
This topic provides students with knowledge of the processes underpinning clinical

There is a practical component which develops skills in interacting with children in a structured setting. There is an emphasis on the integration of theoretical knowledge with developing clinical skills.
Educational aims
The aim of this topic is to support students to begin to develop the skills relevant to speech pathology practice. It provides a foundation for clinical practice which commences in Year 3.

There will also be opportunities to develop some practical skills in case history taking and test administration. Students will begin to develop an understanding of the range of competencies necessary in developing clinical competence.
