Health & Safety Representatives and Deputy Health & Safety Representatives (HSR) are entitled to an initial training course of five days, three days in the second year of a term of office and two days in the third year of office.

The training is designed to ensure that health and safety representatives have the required understanding of their role and are equipped with the necessary skills to perform the functions as defined by the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 (NT), or Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) .

Note: Health and Safety Representatives must obtain the permission of their supervisors for time to attend training at their chosen dates before contacting the WHS Unit to book the training.

Training is delivered by training providers approved by SafeWork SA (for SA) , NT WorkSafe (for NT) or WorkSafe Victoria (for Vic) .
