Research
We are working across a range of scientific and engineering disciplines to help develop technologies and defence capabilities for the future.
We are supporting Australia’s growing maritime industry with engineering innovations and leveraging technology to set new standards for national defence and security.
To better understand where we live and the impacts of industry and growth, we are looking at underground water sources, oceans, coasts, features of geological distinctness and health changes of the environment. Our researchers work in some of the most remote corners of Australia while developing knowledge of world-wide significance.
The world’s most precious natural resource, water, is under immense pressure and in Australia alone we have doubled our groundwater use in the past 20 years. Our researchers are leading the way in groundwater preservation and best practices to ensure there never comes a day that Australia runs out of water. We have a growing list of 12 partner universities and more than 15 industry partners joining our work to manage and improve groundwater systems and resources.
