The students and teachers at Flinders are absolutely amazing! The University as a community has made excellent effort to make the international students feel welcomed and at home. The best thing about my course is the industry placement, which allowed me to apply my skills and get hands-on experience with SME businesses in Australia.
The Bachelor of Languages at Flinders allows me to study both French and Italian. I wanted to go to a university that allowed me to study two languages as part of one single degree and such a degree is only offered at Flinders. I’m also doing some study in international business which will help open up opportunities for me around the world.
The thing I enjoy most about Flinders is how my course is shaped by real life. We are taught using real scenarios, and the findings from the latest academic research papers are applied in our workshops. I have developed the skills and knowledge that will help to progress my career.
I am thrilled with my decision to study at Flinders. Flinders offers so many great opportunities to learn from experts in the field and to obtain first-hand experience in hospitals. The small class sizes allow for an engaging learning experience and there are plenty of experiences to get involved.
My degree has exposed me to the latest in robotics technology. My lecturers are very supportive and have made my transition from high school to University really enjoyable. They also encouraged me to undertake a 12-week internship, which was a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience. I’m really happy I made the decision to study here.
Flinders is a leader in academic research and teachers are very knowledgeable. The best thing about my course was my clinical placement as it gave me a comprehensive understanding of the Australian health system. Adelaide also has a beautiful natural environment, a safe and social atmosphere and is very multicultural.
Extracurricular activities at Flinders have helped me gain confidence and feel more prepared for my future and career. I have enjoyed the field trips for my course and have been able to volunteer for two of the Marine Biology and Aquaculture programs.
My degree placement allowed me to gain exposure to the world of research through my placement at Australia’s premier research facility, CSIRO. This placement led me to the next phase of my career. Flinders employs some of the world’s most renowned hydro-geologists and I am able to network with some of the best brains in the field.
Flinders offers great student services for international students. I highly recommend joining a club and organisation through FUSA to meet people. Flinders Careers and Employer Liaison Centre have also been helpful in preparing me for the future. They even offer weekly seminars about important job processes such as applying and interviews.
Flinders offers students a vibrant and supportive learning environment. From the moment I arrived I felt I was part of the university community. My lecturers are always helpful and create a practical learning environment. What I’ve learnt at Flinders is relevant and will help me further my career.
