Annie has been at Flinders University since 2007; intially, as a Field Education Coordinator, and now an academic. She holds a PhD from Flinders University (2017) having completed a Master of Social Work from Flinders University (2010) and a Bachelor of Social Work from University of South Australia (1994). Prior to coming to Flinders University Annie practiced in a range of settings that included health, mental health, education social work and disability, predominantly in the government sector. Annie's PhD explored dominant discourses in mental health social work, recommending new ways forward within a critical social work approach. Her research interests are in mental health, trauma, women, children and young people, social policy, social work education and self-efficacy in social work practice.
