I am a multidisciplinary researcher whose research encompasses cognitive ecology, animal behavior, evolutionary biology, and anthropogenic change. Currently, my research interests can be categorised into two broad themes – first, I seek to determine the causes and consequences of variation in cognition, with a particular interest in understanding the relationship between the physical and social environment and cognition. Second, I aim to determine the role of cognition in how animals respond to anthropogenic change. I use a number of study systems to address these questions, including birds and reptiles, and carry out fieldwork in both Australia and South Africa. I am a lecturer at Flinders University and currently ARC DECRA fellowship.
