Carly is a Teaching Specialist Associate Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics where she has worked since 2013. She is also a Research Associate in the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre.

Carly has completed a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) at Flinders University (2009), a Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation at Queensland University of Technology (2012) and a Flinders University PhD in Nutrition Science at CSIRO (2014). She is a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) with the Nutrition Society of Australia where she is also a Council Member and Editor of the National Member Newsletter.

As an early career academic, Carly is passionate about student engagement in university life and is the Educational Theme Lead for Student Engagement in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is currently working on a Student Services and Amentities Fee (SSAF)-funded program to promote healthy nutrition on campus for student wellbeing at Flinders University (Eating Well @ Flinders). Carly is a Health and Safety Representative in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and an Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider).
