Key Competencies - Synopsis

Having worked closely with Ministers, CEO’s & executive teams in large, medium & smaller organisations in the public & private sectors, I feel I have the necessary attributes to fulfil key objectives within any corporate environment.

During my career, I have gained solid experience in providing fast paced, quality/effective responsive assistance & advice to senior executives. In addition, I hold a Diploma of Management, Cert IV Frontline Management, Cert IV Human Resources, Cert IV Property, & am an accredited Freedom of Information Officer.

As a business savvy energetic operator, I enjoy working with people who have the same care & passion for stakeholders & the organisation. I have strong customer service & social skills, communicate confidently & effectively at any level, & thrive in diverse, fast paced, challenging/changing environments.

In past I have worked on a myriad of matters including the provision of high level complex confidential office management & executive assistant support, operations, staff & project management, legislative & contract management, governance & financial management, research & development, developing & maintaining systems/procedures, business development/improvement, marketing & event management.

Representing organisations in a front-line capacity on behalf of Politicians, Businesses, Directors & Chief has required extensive liaison with members of Federal & State Government, Ministers, Elected Members, other high-level dignitaries, key clients & stakeholders, public & media. This required not only excellent time management/team skills, but also a diplomatically professional manner & ability to communicate & negotiate effectively at any level.

CEO’s Directors of organisations have relied upon me to provide high level support/guidance relating to administration, governance, regulatory & risk obligations whilst leading many projects from start to finish ensuring alignment with strategic plans, maintaining professional communication with stakeholders, & ensuring KPI’s are met.

Key responsibilities

Key Competencies – Synopsis (continued)

I have had full responsibility arranging seminars, events & functions within government & private business sectors; from the smallest official gatherings, to larger ones such as the Australia Day & Proclamation Day events.

I have also had extensive experience in the provision of general administrative support to Boards & Committees including the coordination of meetings, preparation & distribution of agendas & minutes, report writing & monitoring meeting action items. I have also chaired Local Government & State Government Executive Meetings & have extensive experience in arranging travel both nationally & internationally.

My background has always included the provision of solutions to organisational issues, further learning & self-development, including quality controls, HR, technology, WH&S & project management. I have advanced Microsoft Office skills & have used these skills to develop new systems, websites & marketing materials, statistical reports & other business needs.

I demonstrate the ability to think tactically, encourage innovation, empower & inspire other staff to think strategically, whilst driving improvement.

My style as a leader & co-worker is one of collaboration & partnership with peers & stakeholders to actively challenge the status quo & seek improvements to services delivered. I lead by example & encourage the same from my colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes through well controlled, but flexible & responsive processes.

I am approachable & well respected by my current & previous employers, my peers & those I regularly engage with at all levels across Government & the private business sector. I am passionate about driving business & culture change with focus on effective communication, developing simple, effective & accountable business practices. I will continue to drive these behaviours/values by encouraging open discussion, sharing of information/expertise, & celebrating successes.
