Craig trained as a teacher in primary education and taught in rural and city, public and private schools.
He then spent six years as a Children, Youth and Young Adults Consultant for the Uniting Church Synod in South Australia, establishing children and youth leadership networks and training courses, and organising major children and youth events.
From 1995 to 2009 he served as a pastor and in the latter years as Senior Pastor at a large regional Uniting Church.
Along with other faculty at the Uniting College for Leadership and Theology, he is committed to the formation of women and men in leadership in all sectors.
Providing oversight and lecturing in the leadership courses within the Bachelor of Ministry at Adelaide College of Divinity and within the Bachelor of Theology at Flinders Univiersity.
Craig conducts consultations and leadership seminars in churches and other community organisations. He regularly speaks in churches across the denominational spectrum and consults with leaders in many areas of organisational life.
