Heather is a published poet and novelist, who also works as a poetry editor (Transnational Literature, Etchings, Wet Ink). She has judged awards, including the inaugural Blake Prize for Poetry, and has worked as a freelance reviewer of poetry, fiction and non-fiction regularly in Australia and occasionally in America (Southerly, Cordite, Mascara, Calyx). She is an active member of the local writing community as a guest reader, organiser and consistent audience member of literary readings, and has sat on boards for various writing organisations based in Adelaide (South Australian Writers' Centre, PEN).
