Jim has been a public and environmental health management consultant for well over 30 years and has provided services to the government, private and not for profit sectors in policy development and service delivery. His particular areas of practice relate to local government and the development of public and environmental health policy, and the delivery of statutory and related services within an intergovernment and community context. In the private sector services centre on the development of risk and compliance management policies for biosecurity, infection control and food safety.

Jim is a professor in environmental health practice at the University.
