Dr Williamson is originally from Sydney, NSW but has travelled and worked across the country as a rural general practitioner and lecturer. Currently she resides in the remote town of Nhulunbuy, NT.

She first studied Forensic Chemistry at the University of Technology, Sydney before working as a laboratory technician and then moving across to health advertising. Dr Williamson then entered a postgraduate medical program at the University of Sydney. Her rural placements sparked her career-long interest in rural and remote medicine and as a qualified General Practitioner she has undergone further training in rural Emergency Medicine and pre-hospital care with the Royal Flying Doctors, South-East Section.

FRACGP; FARGP; MBBS; BSc (Hons)

Key responsibilities

Dr Williamson is a supervisor and mentor for Flinders, and elective, medical students whilst on placement in the remote community of Nhulunbuy. She contributes to the medical program as a Senior Lecturer.
