Raphael is focused on solving challenging manufacturing problems through the use of various technologies and skills. He is currently working at the New Venture Institute at Flinders University where he assists a number of startup companies, students and industries in designing, developing, validating and refining new and innovative products for a wide range of applications. He has successfully assisted over 100 local and international businesses through the Flinders Innovation Centre's rapid prototyping capabilities and has worked on creating bespoke and unique products for projects in an international level.
His background in mechatronics engineering and design allows him to take various skills and knowledge and apply them to challenging and multi-dimensional problems to create solutions that best fits the need. He is incredibly passionate about making a positive difference in the world through the use of technology and has been key in assisting a wide range of audiences - from primary school children to international companies - to understands the benefits, capabilities and practicalities of different technologies and how to apply them successfully.
In addition to the engineering and design aspect, he also is part of the New Venture Institute team where he assists in delivering key strategic projects, events, business development as well as managing the eNVIsion Incubator program based at Flinders University. He is well connected with the startup ecosystem in Adelaide where he assists in creating innovative products, parts and prototypes using 3D printing and other rapid prototyping tools.
He is driven to produce great results and is passionate about creating, inventing and designing innovative and creative products for all.
He is currently leading the design and prototyping for a new device which would assist in diagnosing Leishmaniasis in poverty stricken 3rd world countries.
