After working in the oil, mining and pastoral sectors I joined the SA Public Sector becoming a senior executive in Community Services in the 1980s. This included management and policy development in areas of community welfare; children's services; education; regional and social planning; inter-governmental relations (national and international); 'joined up' planning and services with health, education and justice; and, justice/law. I moved to the Department of the Premier and Cabinet in 1993 and then to the Department of Justice where I was Director, Strategic Programmes across the Justice Portfolio for five years. In 2004 I retired to spend time on research and to continue my long standing associations with a number of Australian and overseas universities and professional bodies.

Constituting the environment and in particular governmentality processes to achieve outcomes for vested interests.
Environmental justice.
