I am currently working as a postdoctoral fellow on an ARC-Linkage Project titled “Developing Zn-dense, high yielding wheat by molecular marker technology”. This is a collaborative project between Flinders University, the University of Sydney and the International Centre for Tropical Research. Before coming to Flinders University in October, 2016, I had been working at the Univerisity of Adelaide on various projects involved in barley and malt quality, barley genetics and breeding molecular marker technology. My research interests include cereal genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry.
Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours). First Class Honours (1997-2000: Flinders University, SA, Australia)
PhD majoring in Plant Physiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2003-2009: Flinders University, SA, Australia)
2015: Awarded with the Travel Dependent Fund from the University of Adelaide, Australia.
2011: Awarded with the Barley Research Incentive Award for best oral presentation at the Australian Barley Technical Symposium, Sydney, Australia.
2005: Awarded the Elaine Martin Fund Travel Grant and the University Research Student Conference Travel Grant for the attendance and presentation of a paper at the XV International Plant Nutrition Colloquium in Beijing, China.
2003: Won an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) for PhD study based on excellent academic achievements.
2000: Awarded the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation based on outstanding scholastic achievements.
Awarded the First Class Honors Degree of Biotechnology.
1998: Awarded a Membership in the Golden Key International Honors Society based on outstanding academic achievement and excellence.
1997: Awarded the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation based on outstanding scholastic achievements.
1996: Won an AusAid scholarship for 5-year tertiary education in Australia. This scholarship is highly prestigious as it was only given out for the student with the highest academic grade in each university in Vietnam.
I am currently responsible for research activites, research communication, publishing and reporting.
