For many years, I have worked in aged care community services as an Occupational Therapist and my particular area of interest is chronic condition self-management for older people.

My interest in the Flinders ProgramTM of CCSM began when I attended a pilot workshop in 2001, shortly after I trained as a Stanford Chronic Disease Self Management workshop leader. I have used the Flinders ProgramTM with many clients, sometimes together with the Stanford program, to enable them to improve their ability to self-manage their conditions and lifestyles in order to remain living in the community. I became a Flinders ProgramTM Accredited Trainer in 2004 and I have been involved in training staff within my organization to implement the principles of self-management support into their everyday practice. I joined FHBHRU as an Education and Training Officer in January 2008.
