Associate Professor Joe Jiang joined the College of Business, Government and Law in October 2019. He earned a PhD (October 2014) from Macquarie University, Australia; an MBA (human resource management and organizational studies) from Yeungnam University, South Korea; and a Bachelor in Bioengineering from Northwest A & F University, China. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Applied Psychology: An International Review, is on the editorial board of Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Co-Chairs the Organizational Behavior Stream at Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM).
Previously, he was a Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor at Deakin University where he also occupied the positions of Director of Master of Business Administration (MBA) (International), Director of Executive MBA (International), and Deputy Director of China Business and Economics Research Center. Prior to that he was Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management at Griffith University and a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Management at Central Queensland University. Before entering academia, he worked as a trainer and curricumum developer in a world-leading automotive group and a market research manager in a multinational consulting firm.
Joe is a recipient of the Early Career Researcher Award at the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) in 2016, and is a recipient of the Best Paper Award of the Gender, Diversity, and Indigeneity Stream at the 2015 ANZAM conference.
Joe has published over 31 peer-reviewed journal articles, among which 26 are in A/A* journals on the ABDC list, including Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Career Assessment, Personnel Review, and Personality and Individual Differences to name a few. His work has also been featured in Havard Business Review, and cited in media such as Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and Brisbane Times.
