Generous donations to honour the contribution made by Cheryl Ann Keatley to aged care and continence education have enabled the establishment of the Cheryl Ann Keatley Scholarship.
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage postgraduate training in incontinence nursing by providing financial assistance to students undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Primary Health Care (Aged Care) or the Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Aged Care) or the Master of Nursing (Aged Care).
Subject to the availability of funds, there will be one scholarship valued at $1,000 awarded annually.
One scholarship valued at $1,000 will be available to be awarded annually to students enrolled on either a full-time or part-time basis, subject to the scholarship holder maintaining their enrolment, and satisfactory academic performance. The scholarship will be paid in instalments, based on the student study load in the course, at the beginning of each semester. Scholarship payments will be withdrawn if the scholarship holder withdraws or is precluded from the course, and will not be available for topics that are repeated.
SOURCE OF FUNDS
The scholarship is funded by donations and by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Flinders University. The award will continue as long as donations and earnings thereon are sufficient.
Selection will be made by the representatives of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in conjunction with Student Finance Services.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and demonstrated active involvement in the delivery of care to the older person.
