CRC for Remote Economic Participation (CRC-REP) :CRC-REP Top-up scholarships and project support funds

The CRC for Remote Economic Participation (CRC-REP) has been established to develop new ways to build resilience and strengthen regional communities and economies across remote Australia. The CRC-REP has partnered with over fifty organisations to build new enterprises and strengthen existing industries to provide jobs, livelihoods and incomes.
The CRC-REP is currently offering research scholarships to outstanding students to work as part of a team in one of its research projects.
Both Full and Top-up scholarships and project support funds are available. Current funding amounts are:
  • Full Scholarships of up to $23,000 per annum for three years.
  • Top-up scholarships of $6,000 per annum for three years to holders of Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA), University Research Scholarships, and Masters by Research.
  • Project Support Funding of up to $5,000 for up to three years (full details of project support funding must be provided).
  • Honours project funding up to $5,000 for one year. 
To be eligible for a CRC-REP scholarship:
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must be eligible for enrolment in a CRC-REP participating university; it is recommended that students obtain relevant postgraduate information from their university before pursuing a scholarship inquiry.
  • Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents (in exceptional circumstances this may be reviewed).
  • Applicants must hold an APA or equivalent scholarship.
  • Applicants who are undertaking full-time study will be given preference.
  • Applicants must have developed a project proposal in consultation with a relevant Principal Research Leader.
