College of Medicine and Public Health Summer Research Awards Rules

The Flinders University Summer Research Award has been established to provide an opportunity for students interested in undertaking honours or higher degree research.  

The award will provide students with an opportunity to participate in a research project under the supervision of a member of staff.

This award is solely for educational purposes.  The recipient is under no obligation to perform any work nor are they required to attend the University or anywhere else, at any particular time.  There is no intention to create an employment relationship.

The timing of the research project will normally take place during the summer vacation period and will be determined by the supporting College.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must be a current full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student of an Australian University.

Additional eligibility criteria may apply depending on project and supporting school or faculty requirements. Any additional eligibility criteria will be advertised in conjunction with the application process.

Tenure

The award duration may vary depending on project length.  Specific details will be included in conjunction with specific award opportunities

Selection

Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit.

Additional selection criteria may apply depending on project and supporting College requirements. Any additional selection criteria will be advertised in conjunction with the application process.

Selection will be made within the College offering the Summer Research Award.

Benefits

The award benefit may depending on the research project and funding source.  The award benefit will be paid in a single lump sum payment at the beginning of the award.
