IBM SPSS - Advanced: Structural Equation Modelling using AMOS
This hands-on computer workshop is an introduction to structural equation modelling (SEM) using Amos software. Structural equation modelling is a family of statistical techniques aimed to build and test more complex statistical models. It can be used as a more powerful and general alternative to multiple regression, path analysis and factor analysis (which in fact can be seen as special cases of SEM).
This course is under great demand. If your circumstances change and you cannot attend, please cancel your enrolment as quickly as possible.
Type of course
Hands-on computer course
Who should attend
Staff and research higher degree students
What you will learn
- Main features of the Amos software
- Basics and assumptions of SEM
- Multiple regression and path models
- Assessing model fit
- Modifying a SEM model
- Confirmatory factor analysis
Prerequisites / assumed knowledge
Preferably participants should attend Introduction to SPSS, Introduction to Statistical Analysis, Intermediate SPSS: Understanding Your Data and Checking Assumptions and Intermediate SPSS: Correlation and Multiple Regression (or have an understanding of concepts/skills covered in those two introductory courses) before enrolling in this workshop.
