Records Management - TRIM Survival Guide

Course description

The purpose of this course is to acquaint staff using the on-line Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) with the basic functionality of TRIM. This course has been created specifically for end users of HP TRIM. It provides an understanding of the key terms and concepts. Its aim is to demonstrate how TRIM supports the University's recordkeeping policies and practices.

Who should attend

All Flinders Staff who have been identified as requiring access to TRIM, including Student files, using the on-line application 'TRIM'.

What you will learn

At the end of the course, staff using the Full Client  will be able to:

  • Classify records
  • Know their recordkeeping responsibilities
  • Use the HP TRIM Interface
  • Create New Records
  • View and Edit a Document in HP TRIM
  • Add notes to a Record
  • Search for Records
  • Print Documents held in TRIM
  • Work with Electronic Objects, specifically Email
  • Customize HP TRIM

Prerequisites / assumed knowledge

Have an understanding of Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
