Diversity Forum 2009: Surviving and Thriving through change

Course description

This year's forum will explore themes around change and respect, including making change work for you, embracing change and the impacts of
stress.

Linda Matthews, SA Equal Opportunity Commissioner , will speak about change and respect and being aware not to project one’s own
stress onto those around us.

Matthew O’Callaghan, Senior Deputy President of Fair Work Australia , will speak about Workplace Relations and tips for surviving
change.

Jacky Dakin is an Organisational Psychologist and Director of Halifax House Consulting. She will speak about change and stress
management, with a view to staying positive through change.

Vice-Chancellor Michael Barber will introduce the guests, and after they have spoken will join them to create a four-person panel to
take your questions. Please be encouraged to take this opportunity to engage with this topic and to feel you have a voice.

This forum will be followed up with a series of workshops in the latter part of 2009 and early 2010. These will include sessions on Surviving and
Thriving through change (including recognising and managing stress), which will be open to all staff, and sessions for managers and supervisors
