Performance management: formal counselling
Most managers would agree that successful organisations are a product of the people within them – their staff. However, the opposite can equally be true, when you have an individual or a group that is underperforming it can be devastating to the work unit and the organization as a whole.
This workshop is designed to help you understand the implications of underperformance and provide you with the tools to be able to determine the best course of action.

In this workshop, participants will have:
- Discussed the effects underperformance can have on the individual, team and organisation
- Explored the policies and procedures here at Flinders, and discussed some key legal requirements
- Role-played structural counseling
Prerequisites / assumed knowledge
This workshop builds on the content contained in Performance management: fundamentals and Performance management: feedback essentials. Participants are encouraged to have attended those workshops in advance of this session, but it is not mandatory.
