This advanced course explores all aspects of the formal counselling processes associated with ongoing underperformance. The workshop will be practical and focus on discussing how participants might apply strategies to their own situations.

Topics for discussion include:

  • Defining underperformance
  • How to use Flinders' disciplinary frameworks and resources
  • Understanding the structured counselling process
  • Ensuring procedural fairness throughout

What you will learn

In this workshop, participants will have:

  • Discussed the effects underperformance can have on the individual, team and organisation
  • Explored the policies and procedures at Flinders, and discussed key legal requirements
  • Practiced structured counseling methods

Prerequisites / assumed knowledge

This workshop builds on the content contained in Performance management 1 and 2. Participants are encouraged to have attended those workshops in advance of this session, but it is not mandatory.
