Graduates are able to contribute to the education profession in today’s dynamic and demanding health service settings through new and innovative approaches to clinical education. They are suitable for careers in clinical teaching in the government and private health sectors.

The program provides an understanding of foundational principles of symbiotic clinical education, the ability to demonstrate advanced and applied knowledge and skills in clinical education, and the opportunity to contribute to this specialist body of knowledge by undertaking a significant piece of educational research in the masters. Masters is offered either by coursework or research. Topics cover areas such as symbiotic clinical education for the health professions, assessment of learning for the health professions, reflective learning and teaching, leadership and change for the health profession, research skills in clinical education, and a research project in clinical education (masters).
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution, or the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, or equivalent.
Applicants for the Master of Clinical Education who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education or the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and have not less than two years’ work experience in a relevant clinical area.
Applicants must provide an electronic copy of either their original or certified copy of their Official Academic Transcript for all qualifications relevant to their application.
Unofficial academic transcripts, statement of results, exam slips, screen shots of grades, AHEGS etc. will not be accepted.
If academic transcripts are in a language other than English, applicants must submit copies of both the original documents and full translations. Translations must show results for all subjects undertaken and be certified by an independent accredited translator. It is an applicant’s responsibility to comply with requests to provide further documentation, either in the original language or English translation.
Flinders graduates of a Bachelor degree or Flinders students currently completing their Bachelor degree at Flinders are not required to provide a copy of their official transcript for their Flinders course.
An application can be made for up to 3 courses in order of preference. You will be assessed for entry to the course you are eligible for as per your preferences.
