Topic description
This topic explores the theoretical and practical aspects of language assessment. It covers basic concepts in assessment such as reliability, validity and authenticity, as well as a variety of tools and techniques for assessing language proficiency. This topic will give students a solid grounding for fairly and effectively assessing language proficiency in classroom contexts.

This topic aims to:
- Raise awareness of assessment as an integral aspect of language teaching and learning
- Familiarise students with a variety of language assessment tools and techniques
- Enable development of appropriate classroom assessment practices
