The topic introduces the foundations of a performer's physical and vocal technique and the basic acting methodology required in live and digital performance.

This topic aims to:

• Equip students with the basis of skills necessary for eventual employment as actors and directors in the theatre, television, and film industries
• Encourage all students to work as both interpretive and conceptual artists
• Provide students with a basic understanding of vocal, physical, and imaginative techniques that underpin the core performance training offered in the Drama Centre

1. Demonstrate the improvisation, acting and interpretive skills required by professional actors at a beginner level
2. Demonstrate body awareness, strength, flexibility, alignment and coordination at a beginner level
3. Demonstrate the foundations of the vocal techniques necessary in live and electronic performance
4. Have a clear understanding of multi-camera and single camera production, as well as demonstrate basic skills in camera operation and editing
