Topic description

Students are required to undertake a professional project of relevance to industry, focused on the use and application of digital technologies.

Educational aims

Students are required to undertake a professional project of relevance to industry, involving the application of digital technologies. During this period, students will:

  1. Perform a range of digital technology related tasks
  2. Understand their role, contribution and significance of their work to the wider organisation, supplier, client or other stakeholder
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Demonstrate insight and understanding of the nature and complexities of work focusing on the application of digital technologies
  2. Understand the impact of the project on stakeholders which may include the company, suppliers, clients, government, and employees
  3. Understand the influences of commercial, economic, social, cultural, political, legal, industrial and environmental issues affecting companies, organisations or employees that undertake work involving digital technologies
  4. Appreciate the responsibilities, roles, attitudes, values, priorities, judgement and work methods of practising digital technologists in industry
  5. Communicate effectively in a range of technical and business situations
  6. Exhibit maturity in their own professional attitudes, and reconcile the obligations, responsibilities and actions of digital technologists with their own values
