Topic description
This topic introduces students to the nature and function of theology at an introductory level. Students will learn the central teachings of the Christian faith, the a sources of theology, and theological methodology.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- Introduce students to the nature and function of theology
- Examine a range of theological methods
- Introduce the central teachings of the Christian faith
- Develop students' skills to undertake further theological studies
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Identify the nature, sources and content of Christian theology at an introductory level
- Engage critically with a variety of contemporary approaches to theology
- Demonstrate the ability to outline the influence of context upon doctrinal development
