Topic description

In this bootcamp topic, students continue to build foundational knowledge in both the practice and principles of digital art. Working with a range of traditional and digital techniques students will build further foundational skills working with a range of media/technologies.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide students with an area of specialisation for their artistic practice, while building a base level of practical skills
  • Provide the opportunity for students to undertake a creative project, at an introductory level
  • Develop students’ understanding of the role of a creative artist
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Identify core artistic movements in terms of understanding use of light, shade and colour
  2. Articulate and represent the basic principles of anatomy and human movement
  3. Connect historical precedence to current work
  4. Apply traditional materials and practices
