Topic description
This topic integrates theory and practice in both acute and community healthcare settings and continues to develop nursing knowledge and skills for comprehensive person-centred care. This topic includes 160 hours of professional placement.

This topic aims to apply and integrate nursing knowledge and skills for comprehensive person-centred care across a range of healthcare settings.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Apply critical thinking and clinical reasoning to effectively plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing practice, integrating pathophysiology, microbiology and pharmacological knowledge
- Coordinate and prioritise nursing care for multiple people in an efficient and timely manner across a variety of contexts
- Determine and compare the roles of the interprofessional health care team for provision of person-centred care
- Identify links between regional, national and global health priorities, associated epidemiology, and the planned person-centred care
- Evaluate the principles of ‘quality use of medicines’ and the interprofessional/consumer partnerships associated with the concept
