Topic description
The topic aims to enhance the skills students will need to excel in the Creative Arts both with regard to academic study and arts practice. The topic will engage students in work on practical projects and includes an emphasis on professional practices and high level critical theory. Throughout the topic students will work in a cross-disciplinary environment.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • increase fluency with the critical vocabulary and concepts needed to discuss cross-disciplinary creative works

  • to provide students with the opportunity to work in cross-disciplinary teams on practical projects, including meeting the requirements of professional briefs

  • introduce students to some of the expectations and practices of professional arts bodies
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will have:

  • demonstrated an enhanced understanding of various methodologies required for critical analysis

  • demonstrated a sophisticated awareness of collaborative creative practice across several media

  • the skills required for entry level interaction with professional arts bodies

  • the skills required to work professionally and collaboratively with a range of professionals and peers
