Topic description

In this topic students will build on their previously developed knowledge and skills in Italian. Emphasis is placed on oral-aural comprehension, as well as on understanding and use of both spoken and written Italian.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Review and expand Italian grammatical structures and vocabulary previously acquired
  • Enhance communicative competence through participation in activities involving group or pair interaction
  • Expose students to independent and collaborative learning and to language learning skill development
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Use knowledge and skills in Italian phonetics, speech patterns, grammatical structures and idioms developed throughout the semester to communicate orally and in written form on a range of everyday topics using moderately complex language
  2. Demonstrate skills in peer interaction and improvisation
