Topic description

In this topic students will build on work completed in the previous topics, synthesising new techniques and skills, with the foundational work previously undertaken. Students will undertake a range of projects which will challenge them both conceptually and technically.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Expose students to advanced concepts used in the digital media industries
  • Develop students’ abilities to articulate applied theories and concepts within the design industry
  • Provide opportunities to diversify skills in the production of artistic materials

  • Create awareness of the scope of digital tools and techniques used in digital design
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Observe and recall technical principles
  2. Identify when to use different digital toolkits
  3. Demonstrate understanding of the use of drawing tablets
  4. Examine and explain key artistic works
