Topic description
This topic introduces students to community practices of spiritual care. It engages practical wisdom in faith-based communities through reflection and action
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- Provide opportunities for exploring social and theological challenges in pastoral care
- Explore relationships between faith-based communities and their local contexts
- Provide opportunities for reflecting on the engagement of practical wisdom in community based spiritual care
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Review theological issues for community based spiritual care
- Demonstrate effective spiritual care practices for a range of presenting community needs
- Define community based spiritual care responses to local crisis situations
