This topic will enable students to develop knowledge of the common health conditions that are relevant to occupational therapy practice. The conditions will be explored from a clinical perspective including pathophysiology, epidemiology, presentation, natural history, diagnosis and intervention. Common occupational therapy practice will be outlined in relation to these health conditions. Students will also consider the occupational implications of these conditions on individuals, significant others and society and how this influences health and health policy.
This topic aims to provide students with a clinical and occupational understanding of common health conditions relevant to occupational therapy practice and to explore the impact of these conditions on the lives of individuals, their significant others and society.
