Topic description
This topic provides students with the opportunity to extend professional practice through work integrated learning experiences and outcomes. Students work with clients from community organisations (with significant volunteer numbers) to produce online video ads.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • enable students to experience work integrated learning through professional practice
  • enable students the opportunity to work with community organisations to develop a brief and working documents for an online video ad
  • enable students to work with client organisations through key production and post-production processes and milestones to production completion
  • enable students to work in small production crews to interpret and work to a client brief
  • enable students to work with the volunteer sector and the wider community
  • enable students to gain a knowledge of production formats and deliverables for online video ads
  • enable students the opportunity to work with a series producer and post-production supervisor to deliver a client based product
  • allow students to further develop the skills in risk assessing and generating paperwork for a screen production project
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • identify and engage in professional practice
  • work with community clients, to interpret a brief and deliver documentation for the production of an online video ad
  • identify, schedule and deliver production components through key milestones
  • identify and act on creative and technical revisions from client review
  • work in small crews to interpret, develop, manage and deliver online video ads for a client organisation
  • complete and deliver media including master files for social media platforms
  • risk assess, generate paperwork and gain permissions for a screen production project
