Topic description

This topic comprises one of two capstone topics for students undertaking studio work. Skills and techniques developed in previous topics will be expanded, allowing students to develop, produce, and analyse their own creative work(s). Students will develop an in-depth understanding of their creative practice, and how this connects to areas of the visual arts, and the broader community.

Please note that students will be required to continue in the same studio undertaken in VISA2000 Studio Specialisation A and VISA2001 Studio Specialisation B.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide students with extended skills in one studio area studied previously
  • Develop a broad knowledge of techniques and skills in the chosen studio
  • Provide students with the knowledge to place their creative skills into a broader context
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Develop and demonstrate techniques and/or processes used in their chosen studio
  2. Critically evaluate their own, and others’, creative work
  3. Document and reflect on the development of their own work
