Topic description

This topic will focus on technological interventions in healthcare designed to promote clinical outcomes and general population health. We will examine current state of the art technologies such as wearables, robotics, and virtual reality-based systems. We will review the underlying principles and discuss the considerations for implementation.

This topic aims to:

  • Provide an understanding of the key principles of using technology in health
  • Build a coherent body of knowledge in the array of technologies available for utilisation in health settings
  • Develop an understanding of how to apply reasoning to the application of technologies in health practice
